Monica & Steve – Christmas at the Driskill

It was an honor to be chosen by Monica to shoot her wedding as Monica is a wedding and event professional at Bella Notte. Her wedding was just before Christmas at the Driskill. Incredibly beautiful in so many ways. Steve was the lucky man. It was a wonderful evening in downtown Austin – almost like a dream….

Nancy and Will Engagement

Nancy, Will and I picked one of my favorite places for this engagement shoot. Town Lake right behind the Four Seasons Hotel. We had some great light and took full advantage of it. Of course, it helped to have a beautiful couple who were obviously in love.

Emily and Spencer Wedding

The Caswell House is a lovely historical building and venue. We had beautiful weather for this November wedding. The decor was incredible with Christmas decorations already present throughout this wonderful mansion.

Deauna and Zachary

It is not hard to tell that Zachary is a big Dallas Cowboys fan. After a great shoot at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens, we hustled down to the new Cowboys stadium and got some beautiful shots just as the sun was setting. My son Michael helped me with this shoot. I love Fort Worth!

Shannon and Brian

This August wedding at the Stephen F Austin Hotel was beautiful. We had some fun with the “door betweeen them” shot before the first look between bride and groom. As I advise many couples, if they are willing to see each other before the wedding, we can get a lot of great shots and looks. We had a great time shooting Shannon and Brian and I know they had a great time too!

Usleman Family Portraits

Well, it is a well kept secret that Patrick Motola Photography also does great family portraits. Sandra Usleman wanted some canvas prints of her daughters. Despite a very rainy day, we had a great shoot right at their home. Grace and Anna were so much fun to photograph and of course – they are beautiful too!

Gladney Center for Adoption Benefit

This was my second year to gladly provide the photography for this fantastic benefit for adoption of needy children throughout the world. Thanks to Sandra Usleman for asking me to be involved. The Gladney Center for Adoption is based in Fort Worth and has been helping children and couples for over 100 years.

Nicole and Tommie

We didn’t let a rainy Saturday on October 3rd (during ACL weekend) ruin this wedding! Wow! It was beautiful and we had a blast. The ceremony was at St. James Baptist Church on MLK and the reception was at the Forest Creek Country Club in Round Rock. Thanks to Amanda Cook, my 2nd photographer, she was awesome. Addision was busy shooting another wedding. The pool at Forest Creek was covered with a clear acrylic flooring and it was the dance floor. The bridal party entrance was complete with smoke and lights. The theme has been football all the way from the engagement pictures, to the kickoff date of October 3rd, 2009 on the ice sculpture at the reception, to the Cowboys football groom cake. Tommie and Nicole were great to work with. We created 1200 incredible images together. I can’t wait to start on their album.

Getting "Hitched"

We had a great engagement shoot at the Arboretum and then off to Mount Bonnell for some sunset shots. Due to traffic, Emily and Zach were running late, but of course, that is never a problem. The whole point is to have fun – and we did! I particularly loved the shots of Emily wearing Spencers Austin Police Department hat. They are a wonderful couple. Wedding is November 1st at the Caswell House.

Jennifer and Lawrence

The North Side of the Capital

The North Side of the Capital

We had a great time with Jennifer and Lawrence.  Our engagement shoot was at the Capital and we enjoyed getting out of the mainstream by shooting in the Annex, a very unique part of the Capital.   Beautiful stairways, mezzanines, courtyards.
Jennifer had decided on doing her bridal shoot at Dunvegan Keep.  As always, it was awesome and Craig Turner was a gracious and consumate host.  This particular shoot was incredible.  An occasional shower (yes, it actually rained), left that soft, warm, early evening light.   Thanks to Ashley McAngus of Signature Bridal Salon for Jennifer’s wedding dress and her help with the shoot.  And of course, Kandi Cook of KR Creations and Events, for coordinating both the Bridal Shoot and the entire Wedding.
Jennifer and Lawrence at Star Ranch

Jennifer and Lawrence at Star Ranch

Shooting started at 8 am at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church.  I love this church.  The red interior contrasts with the black and white of a wedding and makes for beautiful images (check out the slideshow).  After the ceremony it was off to Star Ranch for the reception.  This may be one of the best kept secrets in terms of Austin wedding venues.  The Star Ranch Golf Course has great wedding and event facilities and provides a beautiful backdrop for a wedding and reception.  Kandi, Samantha Fulford and the Star Ranch team were flawless.   Jennifer and Lawrence had a beautiful wedding and truly did it “their way.”
